About Us

Established in 1979, Association for Voluntary Action (AVA) is committed to protecting the rights and dignity of vulnerable children across India. As a core member of the Just Rights for Children (JRC) Alliance, which is the country’s largest network of over 250 civil society organisations spanning 28 states and 434 districts, AVA plays a critical role in preventing and responding to crimes against children.
Our work focuses on preventing exploitation, providing legal aid, and ensuring timely rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration of trafficked and abused children. AVA collaborates closely with government bodies to strengthen accountability within law enforcement and child protection systems. We also advocate for child-friendly legal and policy frameworks that uphold children's rights and well-being.
Since 2023, AVA has rescued 33,696 children and supported the rehabilitation of 10,785 children, ensuring their safe reintegration and long-term well-being.
Together, we strive for a nation where every child is free, safe, and heard.
